Saturday
Nothing opens until at least 10 AM. That makes for a relaxed and slow morning. Warm up a muffin, get some orange juice and make sure the coffee is on because coffee drinkers can be cranky. We did get rolling around 10, headed back up 290 to Grape Creek Vineyards.

Liz and I spent the Memorial Day weekend in the company of great friends, traveling the Texas Hill Country. It has been almost almost 6 years since our first trip to Fredericksburg. This time around, we began our planning a little earlier and rented a house so we could all stay together. It was a nice 4-bedroom place about two blocks off Downtown Fredericksburg.

Liz and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on the 25th. I took Liz to have breakfast at Cocoamoda in Calvert. If you haven’t been yet, make plans to go. The last time we went, we walked out with their largest box of truffles and ate every single one. I can’t wait to go back again.
Our reservations were not until 10 AM and since traffic on a Saturday isn’t that heavy in these parts, we arrived a little early. Liz and I decided to take a scenic stroll along the boardwalk. I happened to have taken my camera along and it really made all the difference. We were walking by the Corner Art Gallery (it’s by the traffic signal in town, you can’t really miss it) as it was opening for the day and the curator invited us in to take a picture of the horse.
