Bubbles
DrewH on May 28th 2009
Sarah did get a little bored with the waiting part of fishing. She took out her bubbles and I saw a pretty cool picture opportunity. I was using a pretty limited depth of field. I was trying to keep the background out of focus as well as her head. I probably could have opened it up a bit more in order to get more of the bubbles in focus. The images below were at F1.8 and 1/1000 shutter speed.

The fish were really biting
DrewH on May 28th 2009
I think I promised more fishing pictures from this past Sunday. A storm rolled through the area and it really got the fish biting. We were also fishing with worms this time around and I think the fish liked them more than the minnows.
And yes, that is a Disney Princess rod she is using.

Texas Thistle
DrewH on May 28th 2009
We were out at Liz’s Mom’s place (let’s just call that Tabor from now on) doing some fishing and I took a couple pictures of some of the wild flowers that were still in bloom. I particularly liked how this image came out. It’s a crop from the full size image. Click on the image to get the full size.
I also took some pictures of a prickly pear cactus blossom. I really like the color on the blossom and cactus. The green on the bottom of the petals and the red found on the cactus pad. This flower will eventually turn into a fruit.
