Kids!

So I at the ice skating rink with Sarah and Celeste right now. Sarah has been excited all day about I ice skating and even hops on the ice to skate some before her lesson begins. However, when it is time for the actual lesson, suddenly, she’s tired and doesn’t want to skate anymore. We go back and forth throughout the lesson and she acts somewhat uninterested until the last 5 minutes when she busts out with the most awesome skating display ever. In and out of the cones, swizzles, you name it. Just like Sarah to surprise you when you least expect it (I also think it’s her way of telling me to f@*& off).

Ear Surgey
DrewH on Jan 27th 2009
On Thursday I will be going to Scott & White to have my eardrum repaired. Regular readers (do I have any of those?) will know that I have been having some problems with my left ear and even had a tube pit in last September. Anyway, the tube didn’t work. I have a perforated eardrum. The surgery on Thursday will be repairing my eardrum and using some cartillage from my ear to strengthen the repaired eardrum. The whole process is supposed to take about three hours and I will lose a little bit of my hearing when it is complete. The procedure itself is quite interesting really. I’ve been meaning to look up the details but just really haven’t had the time. I’ll probably look around some tonight.

Stitched Panoramic
DrewH on Jan 6th 2009
I’ve started playing with the photos from the New Mexico trip. I stitched together a series of photos taken just down the driveway from the house we were staying at in Lindrith. The Elk we saw were in the field on the left side of the photo.
This second photo hasn’t been modified any. I like it because when I took the image, it was all very natural. Celeste was playing with the dogs and all I did was ask her to look up. Her smile isn’t forced and the image isn’t posed. Also, considering the dogs were involved, I managed to get it in one shot.

Must have had an impact.

I got home from work today and noticed we had a new calendar up in the kitchen. It’s a Georgia O’keefe themed calendar picked out by Celeste. I guess she was paying attention.
